MISSION & VISION

NFL Alumni also has a traditional mission of “Caring for Kids” across the country. Player alumni give back in their local communities by raising funds for youth-related charities through their 35 regional chapters. It is a tradition that has existed for more than 50 years. Alumni support typically raises more than $1.5 million dollars for worthwhile causes.

WHO WE ARE

From its founding, NFL Alumni’s mission has been “Caring for Kids”. Over the past 39 years, the Jacksonville Chapter of NFL Alumni has contributed over $4.2 million to more than 40 organizations benefiting children in our community, children with health needs, education, skill development needs, and basic welfare needs. Local charities that we support include: Bolder Options, YMCA Camp Menogyn, Minnesota Adult & Teen Challenge, Northern Star Scouting, Newborn Foundation, Children’s Cancer Research Fund, Make-A-Wish, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and many others.

Founded in 1967 by a small group of retired NFL players, the National Football League Alumni is the oldest, most well-known and well-respected retired player organization in professional sports.  The Minnesota Chapter was founded in 1982 by NFL Alumni Volunteers who created two fundraising events, the Gala and Golf Classic, with 100% of the net proceeds raised to benefit area children focused charities.
